We've had discussions about critique. Call it a critique of critique. Critique is a necessary and vital orientation toward the world without which no meaningful political action would be possible. Can we ever get enough of it? But then it sometimes seems critique is being wielded in such a way as to be disabling to one's allies, destructive, corrosive, making thinking an excuse not to act. Where is the threshold of self-critique? Should we stop it, sometimes? Complacency is not the answer. So if we amputate critique at times in order to respond to the URGENCY of action – how then do we bring it back?
